Falling leaves...

Mon Nov 2, 2009, 7:57 AM
Here is a pic of my Halloween costume! I was a Yip Yip from Sesame Street with my boyfriend, we made it from scratch, I think we look pretty epic!

Annnd winter is almost here...yay..I should definetely work on my next year cosplays and not repeat the same mistake as this year because it was horrible to miss so many conventions, so I already took my vacations from work for the next year conventions! yay I will finally show my boyfriend how conventions rules:heart:!

Also I forgot to mention that I was in Amazing Spidey #605!!! One of the characters (Danielle) was drawn based on me by the amazing Yannick Paquette, thank you so much Yannick for this great honor of being in a Spiderman comic

Otakuthon 2009 ...

Wed Aug 5, 2009, 7:58 AM
So otakuthon just happened

To be honest I didn't enjoy myself as much as usual, Friday was awful due to someone stalking me the whole time I didn't even enjoy the convention or went to see everything I wanted to see. THANK GOD I have my awesome friends who sticked with me. I love meeting new people don't get me wrong, but this was disturbing...

:iconsephiliasin: You are my saver!! Thank you so much for staying with me all this time. :iconanimetomboy: too helped me a lot

I wore Nel on friday, I always enjoy wearing her, she is comfy and just too cool.
And on Saturday I wore Dr.Naomi from No More Heroes which I started a year ago but never finished, I loved how it came out.

Saturday was way much better, I hung out most of the time with at the artist table of :iconpsycho-kitty: :iconzarnage: :iconudon-chan: and Linda, they were selling cell phone charms and pin and prints that were all just so beautiful, their table was so much fun, I loved it. I met :iconichigo278: at this otakuthon, she was too cute and awesome Im so happy to meet more cool people every year :D

I was so sad I didn't get to see :iconhexreedfly: and :iconashedelacroixe:, they couldn't make it this year, Miss you so much girls!

Next should be FanExpo but I'll get back on that later :)

Not going to AN T_T

Thu Apr 2, 2009, 6:02 PM
  • Mood: Hopeless
  • Listening to: decode acoustic version- paramore (again)
  • Reading: eclipse
  • Watching: team america
So this year I will not be attending AN, its pretty sad, but I can't due to a job I got at the bank (yay So exciting...not) and I will start only a few days before the convention which leaves me in the incapacity to take days off for it :(
Also since I am short in money I thought I would save up since I would like to move out this July, and sadly it takes priority.

So thats a bummer, but I will catch up with Otakuthon and Fan Expo for sure, no doubt about that.

But we never know...I have been thinking in leaving the friday after work and get to TO at night and spend the saturday at the convention then come back to montreal sunday...but that would be a long travel for only one day of convention...it would be pretty intense...its kinda appealing...I will think about it...

If I come spend the saturday I would bring Tira SC4

Sooo, I still want to work on my costumes and do photoshoots here in Montreal with my fellow cosplayers, so if you are interrested in any group of anything let me know!!!

End of winter ? pleeeassee!!!

I was modeling for a while but I believe Im gonna stop now, I realized it is not my world and that I am not comfortable in it, Id rather be a freelance model, so now im gonna look for a real job and focus only cosplay cause THAT makes me happy :)
So heres some photos of my modeling since I don't have any new cosplay pics. I hope everyone is getting ready for AN Im pretty excited about this year, im hoping to get everything done by then, so much to do...

[[Your Cosplays]]

- What was your first cosplay and why did you choose it?
Major Motoko Kusanagi, I love the character, but it was a sucky cosplay XD

Humm, Nel I would say, she is so cute and comfy! She makes me feels like I'm living in some wild jungle haha!

- What is your least favorite you've cosplayed?
Elena from FF7 Advent Children, not that I don't like her its just that she was less exciting to wear.

- What cosplay is the most uncomfortable?
Simca from Air Gear, the dress is awesome and very light, but the wig and the boots..ohh gawd..awful.

[[Process]]

Yes, but my mother helps me too, she knows many tricks.

- If so, how did you learn to sew? If not, do you plan to learn?
My mom tought me

- Do you make your own props?
Yes, but I hate props so much :P I suck at it

- If so, how did you learn to? If not, do you plan to learn?
I go with the flow also Im clueless about good material to use for props so I try to avoid characters with big prop.

Yes.

- What other skills do you use to create your cosplays?
Finding weird stuff that you never thought you could incorporate into your costume ?

Recently I discovered hot glue can be used on fabric! I used to use it for props and such but it works so fine with fabric! I was always afraid to ruin the fabric.

You don't wanna know, seriously...

- Do you try to stay cheap or do you splurge on materials?
Its soo important to find bargains especially since you WILL find what you need at the dollarama, but I usually gets so excited when making a costume that I go wild when shopping and then find out that it was so much cheaper at the dollarama.

[[Conventions]]

- How far have you traveled for a convention?
6 hours for Anime North and FanExpo.

- Do you usually stay in a hotel or stay at home when you can?
I stay at my boyfriend's sister's place, we love going there its always a blast. But for Anime North we got a hotel cause the convention is way too far from downtown Toronto and its a pain traveling everyday, specially in costume!

Never really had a bad experience, maybe my boots killing me during the day, or weird creepy people.

Maybe some movements or walk but not that much.
